According to information ICC informed PCB that they should remain careful from the bookies approach. There were six to seven Pakistani player who were doubted to have connections with bookies.

Zia said that he was also an Army officer that time and one day he received a call and a gentleman asked him to include a player in the team having links with bookies. He added that he was also offered that the player will earn money for them. In reply he straightaway refused and said that he will never include the player in the team.

Three Pakistani were suspended after they were alleged guilty for bowling no balls on the direction of fixer Mazher Majeed. Later Mazher was released by the police and was also allowed to do his Job. ICC chief Lorgat said that they should have solid proof and should also be fully confident before putting a blame of players.

Former President International Cricket

Council (ICC) Ehsan Mani is disgruntled over the conduct of the game's ruling body in connection with Indian Test batsman Suresh Raina.

Controversy hit the Indian cricket when a news report claimed that during the recent tour of Sri Lanka, Indian batsman Suresh Raina was seen in the company of a woman known to be an associate of a man allegedly linked to a bookmaker.

As reported the Sri Lankan Cricket Board, while bypassing the ICC, reported the incident to its Indian counterpart. This act should be questioned by the ICC and a thorough probe into the incident should have been carried out.

According to the report, during the recent tour to Sri Lanka, 23-year old Raina was seen in company of the woman more than once.

The report further claimed that Sri Lanka Cricket provided BCCI with the CCTV footage from cameras installed at the Indian team hotel

in Sri Lanka. The BCCI however denied receiving any report or footage from the SLC.

ICC task force to grill PCB boss Butt in teleconference on Oct 23

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt will be grilled by the special task committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in a teleconference scheduled for October 23, a PCB source has revealed.

According to reliable sources, the teleconference will be held to discuss and review the measures taken by the PCB for improving its governance and implementing measures recommended by the ICC at its executive board meeting in Dubai earlier this month, the Daily Times reported.

In the meeting, Butt had been clearly told that the board needed to clean up its act and seriously pursue implementing the ICC- recommended measures within next 30 days, otherwise it risked facing possible sanctions.
"Ijaz will be asked about the steps taken by the PCB to enforce the recommendations made by the ICC executive board which is not willing to give much leeway to the chairman now," disclosed a source.

"The ICC executive board means business and during the teleconference the task committee formed to look into Pakistan cricket affairs will find out from Ijaz about the steps being taken by him to improve governance as well as about the recent successful holding of the National T20 Championship here at Gaddafi Stadium that attracted big crowds," the source added.

The PCB is already under pressure because of the spot fixing allegations against the tainted trio- Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer.

"The problem now facing the PCB is that the England, Australian, New Zealand and South African boards have told the ICC that there should be no leniency shown towards the suspended trio. The presidents of three boards have pressed on the ICC that it needs to take action against the trio because they had brought a bad name to the image of cricket on a whole," the source said.

He added that though India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and West Indies had so far not shown support for the strong stance taken by the four other boards on the spot fixing issue, the PCB was worried about future developments. (ANI)

PCB just following ICC 'guidelines': Tafazzul Rizvi

On October 6, the ICC had issued a strict warning to the PCB to implement a series of measures to solve problems faced by the country’s cricket or “risk sanctions,” the Dawn reported.

However, PCB’s legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi disagreed over the same, saying, “There was no mention of sanctions, instead, they were the guidelines suggested by the ICC and we will be mirroring it in our domestic cricket structure.”

He also insisted that the ICC never warned PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt that his membership would be suspended. “We are very responsible board member of the ICC and are aware of our position and stature at the international sporting level,” the board’s legal advisor added.

While the federal officials in Islamabad revealed that the ICC’s recent warning was the last nail in the coffin of the sitting PCB management, Tafazzul, the man who has been assisting PCB’s legal battle, both at home and abroad, has claimed that “the domestic rules along with a code of conduct was already in place.

“The ICC is the primary regulator of the sport and forwards advice to its members and our initiative was meant at elevating the domestic structure of cricket,” he added.

Tafazzul said that the board’s current steps were aimed at bringing Pakistan’s domestic cricket at par with the domestic cricket of top cricket nations like Australia and England.

Islamabad, Oct 20 : The International Cricket Council’s warning to Pakistan for implementation of specific measures to overcome flaws in the country’s cricket within next 30 days were in fact ‘guidelines’ usually suggested to all of its members, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has claimed.

Afridi hoping to revive Pak cricket by clinching one-day series against S. Africa

Pakistan's One-day International (ODI) Captain Shahid Afridi is hoping to put his team's World Cup 2011 preparations back on track by winning the upcoming one-day series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month.

"It's all about confidence... We can improve our World Cup chances by boosting our confidence and should do that by winning matches against South Africa and later against New Zealand," The News quoted Afridi, as saying.

Pakistan will play two Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa in Dubai later this month before taking on the Proteas in a five-match ODI series in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Afridi said he wanted his squad to put aside the bitter memories of the acrimonious England tour and give their best against South Africa.

"We have to forget what happened during the tour of England," he said, adding, "What the team desperately needs is some good results and I'm sure that if we play to our potential we can do that against South Africa."

Pakistan had lost to England in all three formats (3-1 in Tests, 3-2 in ODIs and 2-0 in T20s) during its last tour. But much more damaging for them was a 'spot-fixing' scandal that resulted in the ICC provisionally suspending Pakistan's Test captain Salman Butt and pacers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.

"We are going to miss the three because they are our key players," Afridi stressed, referring to the tainted trio who are out of the current squad.
However, he added, "But we can't ju
st sit back and cry over it. We have to focus on the upcoming assignments and thankfully, we still have several match-winners in our side,"
Afridi expressed confidence that Pakistan's spin attack would give the 'hosts' an edge on the slow and turning wickets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

"Spinners will certainly be playing the major role in UAE," said Afridi, himself an accomplished leg-spinner. "The wickets there should give them a lot of assistance."

The national team is currently attending a brief training camp in Lahore where the coaches are focusing on fielding. "We are working hard to improve our fielding because that's one area in which we have really struggled in the past," Afridi noted. (ANI)

Pakistan writes new player rules after ICC warning

Pakistan's cricket board said Monday it had drawn up a new players' code of conduct outlining stricter rules on corruption following sharp criticism from the sport's governing body.
Pakistani cricket has been rocked by allegations of spot-fixing during the national team?s recent tour of England. The team's tour of Australia in March was also marred by disciplinary problems and match-fixing allegations.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) last Wednesday told the PCB it must "uphold a zero tolerance attitude to corruption in sport" and ensure players' integrity. It said Pakistan must prove progress is being made within 30 days, or risk sanctions.
Team manager Intikhab Alam said the new code of conduct was a first step.
"The new code of conduct is the first step towards fulfilling the ICC's recommendations," Alam told AFP. "We hope the new code will help us in dealing with the disciplinary and corruption problems."
Spot-fixing allegations by a British newspaper tabloid in London this summer resulted in two separate inquiries.
The ICC ruled there was no evidence of spot-fixing in the third one-day international between Pakistan and England last month but another inquiry, relating to the Lord?s Test against England in August, is pending.
Three players, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, were provisionally suspended by the ICC after it was alleged they took money from a book-maker to deliberately bowl no-balls in the Test.
The trio appealed against the suspension and face an ICC hearing in Doha, Qatar on October 30 and 31.
Alam, who was replaced as coach after the team's problem-hit tour of Australia in March, took over as manager earlier this month.
He revealed few details of the new code, but said it involved stricter rules of behaviour and that players would be barred from addressing media directly.
Alam said players had also been briefed about their responsibilities in a 90-minute lecture at a training camp in the eastern city of Lahore.
"They were briefed about corruption in the game, doping and discipline and I hope the players will be responsible enough to show good conduct during the tour and in home matches," said Alam.
The PCB will also implement strict rules in domestic matches by which players will not be allowed to use mobile phones and unauthorised people will be barred from players' dressing rooms, said Alam.
He added the new code would be given to players in the next couple of days.
"The players are required to sign the document before we leave to play against South Africa," said Alam of the series against South Africa starting in the United Arab Emirates from October 26.
Pakistan play two Twenty20, five one-day and two Tests on the tour.

Butt Took Actions After Ultimatum of Suspension

PCB chairman is taking strong action after PCB was warned by ICC and 30 days warning starting from 13 October was issued to Ijazz Butt. Ijaz Butt is still chairman of PCB after strong protest by the parliamentarian and some other former cricketers.

He apologies from ECB and Pakistan also protest against that decision.

After the ICC meeting at Dubai PCB was given time to correct its domestic set up and do measures to control corruption from domestic cricket. ICC demanded strong and quick action from PCB. It was also warned that if Pakistan didn’t do reforms or took actions to correct the setup then PCB’s affiliation with ICC will be cancelled.
Pakistan team manager Intakhab Alam said that players have to act according to code of conduct of PCB and also on the code of conduct of ICC. The player who resists signing the code of conduct will be expelled by PCB.

According to information players will not be allowed to use mobile Phones during the series.

PCB is under huge amount of pressure as count down has started and there is much work to do. PCK is working 7 days a week as they have huge task in front of them. The formation of anti corruption unit at domestic level is huge task for PCB.

Wasim Akram Criticize PCB For Not Consulting The Captain

Pakistan’s former captain Wasim Akram said that it is a big mistake from any board that it announce team without consulting team’s captain. Captain is the man who lead the team in the field and he can only push up team during match so he should have right to say in team selection. He also criticizes PCB for announcing team before the announcement of captain.

Shahid Afridi once showed his unhappiness over the selection criteria. Wasim Akram said that PCB should announce team after T-20 domestic tournament. If player knows that they have a chance to select in the team on their performance then they definitely put more efforts in their matches. He said board should take decision of final team after the domestic tournament over.

He added that he would definitely consult coach and captain for selecting team if he was chief selector. Wasim added that world cup is approaching and it is very difficult and important time for building of strong combination for the world cup. He said that board should have full faith in its captain for selection of team. Captain is the main person who should have the main idea to use its players at right time.

Shahzaib and Riaz Back In Pakistan Squad

Shahzaib and Riaz are two players who performed well in the domestic T-20 match in Pakistan. After their good performance they get their place in Pakistani Squad for limited over games against South Africa. Pakistan is scheduled to play against South Africa in Dubai and Abu Dhabi later in this month. Pakistan’s Captain Shahid Afridi was not much happy after the announcement of the team as he wants consultation of captain and coach with PCB before announcement of team.

PCB under new code of conduct implemented restriction on player and coach to give any interview. ICC asked Pakistan to reform its set up and now new rules are implemented by PCB. Chief Selector Mohsin Khan said that two players are added in the team due to their good performance.

Shahzaib was top scorer in the tournament with 281 runs in his four matches. Pakistan team will leave for playing series against South Africa on 24th October. Wahab Riaz took 10 wickets and his economy rate was 4.12 during the domestic tournament. He was also along with touring Pakistani team of England and he took five wickets in his first match inning. He was later alleged for involving in spot fixing. However he was not suspended by ICC due to lack of evidences.

Salman Butt hopes to make swift return

Karachi: Pakistan test captain Salman Butt has kept up his training regime in the hope of playing in next month’s series against South Africa despite being suspended and under investigation for alleged spot-fixing.

“My cricket career was going well and I was also doing well, these allegations have damaged by career,” Butt told reporters on Friday as he mulled over his chances of playing in the Middle East against the South Africans.

“But it has also been a big learning experience for me. It has taught me a lot about how to deal with the people around you.

“I keep on following my daily routine of two hours training and practice because I want to be prepared for a comeback.

“I am working hard and doing my bit. The conditions in Lahore and the UAE are the same so I am preparing hard on playing spin.”

Butt has kept a low profile since returning from the troubled tour of England last month and is waiting for his appeal hearing against the suspension in Doha on Oct. 30 and 31.

Pace bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif were also suspended by the International Cricket Council for allegedly agreeing to bowl pre-determined no balls in the fourth test against England in August.

British police are also investigating the spot-fixing allegations against the players who all deny any wrongdoing.

Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar has won the David Shepherd Trophy for the second time after being named ICC Umpire of the Year at the LG ICC Awards in Banglore (India), IC announced on Wednesday.

Aleem Dar wins ICC Umpire of the Year 2010
Aleem Dar's ICC Umpire of the Year 2010
It was a big news for Pakistan Cricket after the disqualification of Muahmmad Asif and Muhammad Aamir on spot fixing allegations. On the other hand, British player Steven Finn achieved the best young player award, leaving behind Pakistan’s Umar Akmal.
Dar, was voted to this award by the 10 Full Member captains as well as the eight-man Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, based on his decision statistics and officiating skills over the past 12 months.

It is the second year in a row that he has received the ICC award which has been newly named after the late England umpire David Shepherd and upon collecting the trophy from Chris Broad, Dar said; “I think the fact I’m still playing cricket in Pakistan makes me a good umpire, in the last four times I’ve played cricket I scored centuries so I definitely think that has helped. “I’m honored to have been named the winner for the second year in row.” he commented.

Lahore-based Aleem Dar beat off strong competition from his colleagues on the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires Steve Davis, Tony Hill and five-time ICC Umpire of the Year Simon Taufel.
Dar, who made his international debut as an umpire in 2000, joined the Elite Panel in 2004. In the voting period of these awards, Dar stood in three Tests and 17 ODIs, as well as nine Twenty20 Internationals. He stood in the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies, where he was an on-field umpire in eight of the matches, including the final between England and Australia.

The Umpire of the Year is one of 12 individual and team honors handed out during the ICC Awards. Based on the period between 24 August 24, 2009 and August 10, 2010, the LG ICC Awards 2010 presented in association with FICA take into account performances by players and officials in a remarkable period for the game.

The LG ICC Awards ceremony is now in its seventh year and this year is being held in Bangalore. Previous ceremonies were held in London (2004), Sydney (2005), Mumbai (2006), Johannesburg (2007 and 2009) and Dubai (2008).

Bayern Munich issued a provocation to the Dutch FA

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge chairman Bayern Munich issued a provocation to the Dutch FA demanding at least one million euros for the loss of forward Arjen Robben. While Netherlands fails in the World cup final against Spain with Arjen Robben in their side, Bayern Munich are harsh the winger forced thigh harm and is not predictable to engage in recreation over again awaiting after January.

"We Need Robben"

The defending champion have demanded a huge amount according to BM Chief for the missing of their star forward and he says the Germans would like the money soon.

Chairman has whispered the next pace would be to get the matter to world football’s governing body, if the issue can not be set on by the both parties. “We pass the time for an act in response from the Netherlands in the not as well far-away budding.

“If we don’t fall on a pleasurable way out with the Netherlands, we will start protest in FIFA. I have previously alleged this rather visibly.” Bayern’s Chief meet with Dutch Football legislature more than 14 days ago and the minute holdup has forced Rummenigge.

“Our unwritten trade with those Dutch football association representatives is by now two weeks older, but we at a stop have not regard from them, even if the validity we agreed we would.”
Arjen Robben come back from the mega event with a double inch scratch in his left thigh and Bayern Munich claim he should not have been permitted to come on field, so are chasing the Dutch football association and their medical experts for payment.

Meanwhile, chairman has also told that he is enthusiastic to widen the deal of German Coach Louis van Gaal, whose contract is ending at the finish of the ongoing season. “I can sound foresee that Van Gaal will settle here a bunch longer. If somewhat works, you have to endeavor to keeps it available said chairman Rummenigge.

Louis Van Gaal is stated to be seal to signing a year’s conservatory and is effective all the way through the stipulations with Bayern.

Pakistan Needs One More …

After the current ended tour of England, Pakistan needs one more thing to make vigor the national cricket team. In recent tour, despite have well experienced and new / young players, team’s actual performance was just like a lower club level.

The only performance was come from bowling squad which was on peak and hurt by English press by match fixing charges. recent charges of Ball Tempering against Shoaib Akhtar are just make clear that only Pakistan Cricket Team was focused with cameras.

If Shoaib was trying to stop the ball by his feet, it doesn’t mean that he is tempering.

The Suspended Mans
Match fixing charges are just a fake scandal and ICC believe on only newspapers reports which only made to increase circulation of news of the world. That was a fake but money earning game. If ICC believe on newspapers then what is the need of ICC’s Anti-corruption Unit. This unit should be removed as there is no need of this unit because newspapers are working out there.

The world knows that India and IPL is the Headquarter of match fixing but ICC has just pay no attention. Recently in a common statement, Australian and New Zealand’s Cricket Boards blame BCCI or India about match fixing and bookies. The most of bookies are belonging to India.

ICC’s role to suspend 3 Pakistani players (Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif & Muhammad Aamir) is not perfect. They not declared as offenders but just upon newspapers reports instead to ICC’s Anti-corruption unit. Haroon Lorgat, the chief executive of ICC has taken very immediately action against cricketers and start investigation as Scotland Yard police already warns that no further investigation sprint with police investigation.

PCB Chief Ijaz Butt has taken a bold decision to blame English media and
England & Wales Cricket Board to stop the noise of match fixing against Pakistan. Fixing charges can be understood if a team crushes during a game.

But when team wins the same charges are beyond hindsight. Butt’s back attack on English media and ECB appear as fruitful as there is no more noise about match fixing.

Even with all problems, actually Pakistan cricket team needs some good decisions, first is to call back Younis Khan & second is Rana Naved-ul-Hassan;

Rana Naved is the dynamic all-rounder of Pakistan cricket team who can make huge runs in middle order with Abdul Razzaq. In forth ODI Razzaq has shown his outstanding performance and made a short but impressive / valuable inning against England which appears as a huge difference between England and Pakistan. Pakistan has won the game. Peoples who say Razzaq has expired most read these words “ITS RAZZAQ … NOT A MAZZAK”.

At fifth ODI, the role of empires was terrible; their dreadful job was clearly shown on TV replays things and decisions were just going against Pakistan. It seems nothing is new. The same things happen in all previous England tours with Pakistan cricket team. The English media has made trail when Pakistani bowlers kicked out English batsmen by their excellent swing bowling and English media has declare it “Ball Tempering”.

On this issue Imran Khan launch a case against Alan Lamb the former English skipper, and won the case. Its significant thing that why only English media targets Pakistani Cricket Team in every tour. To find the reality we have to go back at least 70 years. The time of partition of British India is the main thing and now this thing is hidden behind curtains but still in top.

England has now won the ODI series by 3-2 margin & Thank God this awful tour has been finished.

The new milestone of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar

The new milestone of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is just not amazing because most of cricket pundit already predicts about it and they were waiting for it … now the time is come and going behind. Sachin’s new test century against Australia was made on a dead track too. But there is one positive and essential thing that Australia already batted on the track but fails to shape any performance like that on which he made his dual century.

But it’s true that as a home team Indians were well aware with pitch and as a guest team Australia is not. This is the key factor through which Indians have put the pressure on Australia.

It was the maximum 3rd wicket contribution in India-Australia Tests (between Murali Vijay & Little Master Sachin Romesh Tendulkar), go beyond the 222-run stand between Ex Australian Capt. Allan Robert Border and Kim Hughes in Chennai in 1979.

Sachin has also touched the new milestone in test cricket; he has completed 14,000 plus runs in his career. One can think better about his record that in near future no body can hit or break his record even if he play for 20 years, as we all well familiar with the current test cricket.
Current era’s batsmen’s have no more good test temperament. And most of tests finished in just 3 or 4 days.

U.S. Ryder Cup player Tiger Woods stands on the 11th green during practice ahead of the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Newport, south Wales .

All that happened to Tiger Woods in the last year, after the Escalade and the fire hydrant and the "transgressions" and the apologies and the tantrums and the divorce and the godawful play, we may have lost sight of an important fact: It's not that long ago that Woods was the best golfer on the planet, bar none. And thus, it may not be the wisest move, tactically speaking, for his competitors to get him riled up again.

Later this week, Woods and the 11 other best golfers of the United States will challenge their European counterparts in the Ryder Cup, a biennial tournament that's far closer in atmosphere to an SEC football game than, say, the Masters. The competition is cutthroat, the galleries are raucous, and there's actually trash-talking. No kidding In golf.

Rory McIlroy, the Irish wunderkind, kicked off the verbal sparring a few weeks ago when he told the BBC he "would love to face" Tiger one-on-one in the Ryder Cup. "Unless his game rapidly improves," McIlroy said, "I think anyone in the European team would fancy their chances against him." Fancy this, Mr. McIlroy: Woods heard your challenge. When asked at a press conference about McIlroy's comment that he'd love to face Woods one-on-one, Tiger leaned forward and offered a terse reply: Woods has obviously known about McIlroy's comments for several weeks there was a rumor going around a tournament a couple weeks back that Woods told McIlroy "careful what you wish for" -- but, as always, Woods only speaks publicly when he absolutely has to.

The U.S. and European teams will play two days of team golf for 36 holes. The two teams only play head-to-head singles matches on Sunday. Even that's a blind draw, so McIlroy only has a one-in-12 chance of facing Woods.
